"What the heck did Joe say?"
Everyone has to have misheard a Clash lyric at one time or another..or maybe another. I don't mean really hearing it wrong like thinking "Rock the Casbah" is
"Rocks The Catbox" or "Rob The Cashbox" (check KissThisGuy.com" for those). Just a simple phrase. It might've been an ear infection or deafness. It could've been your scratchy records or bad speakers.
Or it just might've been Joe Strummer's peculiar singing style. Yeah, that's it! So I've put mine below. If you want to add one, I'll put your name on it and stick it up.
